Chiku is also known as Chikoo, Sapodilla, or Sapota. They are both round and oval-shaped. They possess a fuzzy brown skin. The peel is inedible and encases the yellowish-brown flesh. The flesh is quite sweet and has a smooth grainy texture. The taste and the texture are akin to a babugosha. They have a sweet fragrance. Each sapota contains three or four inedible seeds. The seeds are large, shiny, black, and tear-shaped.
